School Data Analysis Department is designed to help educators in learning how to use data in their school improvement planning process. We, at AZM School offer some foundational information on types of data, strategies for analyzing and understanding data, and methods for determining how these efforts can influence goals, planning, and differentiation in teaching.

Upon AZM School mission “Offering quality learning experiences and diverse opportunities in a positive atmosphere and openness to creative ideas”, our children will take part in an international standardized test titled “Measures of Academic Progress®" (MAPGrowth). MAP Growth reports the student’s Rasch unIT (RIT) and many other reports that determine the student’s instructional level and measure the academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of Mathematics, Language Arts and Reading for G3 to G12 except G9, EB9 and ES3 and in the areas of Reading and Mathematics for G2 (MAP for primary grades). The RIT score is a different type of score than a typical test that provides a percentage correct. Instead, the RIT score is an equal-interval scale, like feet and inches, that is independent of grade level.

Data Analysis department gathers and analyzes data from multiple sources (Official exams, Traditional exams, MAP Growth) to share it with the school leadership teams, to contribute to student academic growth and school academic improvement. Data analysis department collaborates with teachers and staff to monitor student progress through the analysis of multiple measures of data and communicates assessment results to appropriate stakeholders.

Besides, we abide by all the surveys’ types adopted by AdvancED. All the survey results are analyzed per standard. The perception data helps develop an understanding of “what students, parents, teachers, and others think about the learning environment”.

In addition to the AdvancED surveys, we conduct our own surveys to offer the best learning experiences. We develop the database to calculate and analyze a set of educational indicators necessary for school’s improvement.
